The field of this shawl is scattered with small butis featuring delicate florals alongside the celebrated pomegranate motif, a design element rarely seen in Kashmiri shawls. In the slender hashiya borders, these same motifs are arranged to form a continuous vine, creating a quiet visual connection between the field and the frame. The inclusion of the pomegranate carries a deeper cultural resonance, as the motif was prominent in Central Asian suzani embroidery, where it symbolized prosperity, good health, and good fortune. Its presence here introduces a subtle cross-cultural reference while enriching the traditional floral vocabulary of the shawl.
