Kashmir Loom, in collaboration with Sadu House, opened a unique textile exhibition featuring exquisite textiles, heirloom Kani weave and Sozni embroidered pashmina shawls from Kashmir.

Kashmir Loom made its mission to revive the reputation for exquisite weaves that the Valley once had. “We were determined to preserve the techniques that almost vanished, like the Kani weave,” Housego explains.

The Metallic Kani Goes to the MET. Made by the Delhi-based Kashmir Loom, a ‘contemporised’ version of the historic kani shawl is on display at the museum’s Heirloom Project Bazaar.

Kashmir Loom has released a memoir of its co-founder Jenny Housego, A Woven Life. Through the memoir, Housego tells of the adventurous journey she undertook from war-hit England to the valleys of Kashmir.

"If I had known 20 years ago that I would spend much of my time in the beautiful valley of Kashmir, I would not have believed it," writes Housego, as she shares a photo album of Kashmir Loom with AD.
