A simple yet beautiful ochre flower is placed in a contemporary all-over repeat on a beautiful cabernet red ground on this kani weave shawl. A great piece to accessorize with this holiday season. 

The famous Kashmir shawls at the height of fashion in the late 18th and 19th centuries were woven with a unique technique. The pattern was woven as part of the shawl in a very fine twill tapestry technique known as Kani from the Kan which is a kind of stick pointed at each end around which the yarn is wrapped.
