The Leherdar Kani derives its name from the wave-like pattern adorning its design. This oversized shawl, featuring a traditional aesthetic, has been revitalized with a modern color combination of Natural, Ivory, and Black.
The famous Kashmir shawls at the height of fashion in the late 18th and 19th centuries were woven in a fine twill tapestry technique called Kani. The technique gets its name from the small eyeless bobbin called Kan, used to weave the design into fabric. This exquisite technique survives today only in the Kashmir valley.
