Kani Weave
The Kashmir shawl has long been a luxury item, with Kani weave cashmere shawls holding particular value, as this craft is unique to the Kashmir Valley. Much like impressionist paintings, Kani weave shawls beautifully recreate nature-inspired designs through an intricate twill tapestry technique. In this method, the yarn is wrapped around an eyeless bobbin, or kan, which gives the craft its name.

Sozni Hand Embroidery
Historically, it was men who executed the very finest needlepoint embroidery that is always practiced on pashmina. This highly skilled profession remains deeply rooted in the Kashmiri Sufi tradition, where embroidery becomes a meditative practice. Each tiny stitch requires focused attention, contributing to a jewel-like mosaic that reflects the meticulous standards of the art.
