The three-rose motif in this Kani Weave cashmere shawl is inspired by a vintage 18th century Fragment in the Victoria and Albert Museum, also made in Kashmir. The dark camel base elegantly complements the deep red roses, wrapping you in vintage allure and artisanal craftsmanship.
The famous Kashmir shawls that were at the height of fashion in the late 18th and 19th centuries were woven with a special technique with a small bobbin or eyeless needle onto which is wound the yarn of the different colours needed to make the design of a twill- tapestry fabric. This fine technique known as Kani.
