A contemporary floral-patterned stripe, also known as Khatrast, graces this kani scarf in colors inspired by vintage Kani-weave shawls. 

The famous Kashmir shawls that were at the height of fashion in the late 18th and 19th centuries were woven in a fine twill tapestry technique called Kani. The technique gets its name from the small eyeless bobbin called Kan, used to weave the design into fabric. This exquisite technique survives today only in the Kashmir valley.
