Kani Sosan Posh Hand Woven Large Pashmina Shawl Indigo

Regular price Rs.350,000.00 INR

The light blue flowers on this sublime Kani weave pashmina shawl are inspired by motifs woven on a mid 18th century shoulder mantle from the region. The rich craft heritage of the region has always been an endless source of inspiration.

The famous Kashmir shawls that were at the height of fashion in the late 18th and 19th centuries were woven in a fine twill tapestry technique called Kani. The technique gets its name from the small eyeless bobbin called Kan, used to weave the design into fabric. This exquisite technique survives today only in the Kashmir valley.
